Third grade is a year of amazing social, emotional and academic growth.  Students are eager to engage and interact with their learning and their peers.  Hands on projects and inquiry-based instruction put these natural inclinations to use.  The enthusiasm and energy students at this age bring into the classroom is a joy.

Our third grade curriculum taps into students’ growing interest in the greater world around them; including our service learning project which focuses on the Catholic social teaching of care for God’s Creation through stewardship of the Villa Garden, our study of culture and community, our investigation of the scientific process, and our exploration of democracy.

Children Need Time in Nature
“A widening circle of researchers believes that …the disconnection from nature
even when it is available, has enormous implications
for human health and child development.”
